Control Group In The Clinical Trial

Everybody knows that the clinical trial is the gateway for the researched drugs to hit the public market. The formulations made by the researchers reach the clinical trials for the final approval after through testing on various species for quite long time. In the final approval stage, these clinical trials are tested on the human beings, who are termed as volunteers.

For the purpose of the effective analysis, the volunteers in the medical trials are divided into two different groups. The patients are selected on the random basis, few are given the experimental medicine and they are known as active group. Another bunch of the volunteers are given the standard treatment or placebo, they are termed as control group. The division of groups is maintained as secret to ensure effective results in the clinical trial.
