What Should Be Done Before Taking Part The Clinical Trial?

Clinical trials are always conducted with the aim of bringing out the better treatment or the medicine to the open world. The participant in the Clinical trial plays a important role here because he will place his health under uncertain conditions for the experimental treatment. The outcome of the clinical trial cannot be expected till the final output. The volunteer participant of the clinical trial should take the consent from the family members before he/she undergoes the trial.

They have to speak with the respective doctors and other past participants to discuss the pros and cons of the medical trial. Any further information can be obtained from the medical trial coordinator. The volunteer is expected to undergo medical screening which includes

  • Measurement of the electrical activity of the heart (ECG)
  • Measurement of blood pressure, heart rate and temperature
  • Blood sampling
  • Urine sampling
  • Weight and height measurement
  • Drugs abuse testing
  • Pregnancy testing
